About Michael Kerzner
Michael Kerzner is proud to be serving as MPP for York Centre. As a lifelong conservative, a 25+ year resident of York Centre along with his family and an entrepreneur in the technology and bioscience fields, he is honoured to have been elected to be the voice of the people of York Centre on June 2, 2022.
After seeing the impact of the pandemic on our small businesses, health care and education system, Michael knew it was time to take the next step in his community involvement and put his name forward for public office with the hopes of being able to influence government policy to support the priorities of the York Centre community.
As the proud voice for the people of York Centre and Downsview and Ontario’s Jewish community, some key priorities for Michael include fighting anti-semitism, for public safety, working to enhance Ontario’s education, health care and transportation system. Locally, Michael is advocating to ensure investments are made into the two local hospitals, Humber River and North York General Hospitals’ Branson site, the long-awaited community centre is built at Keele Ave & Wilson Ave and the Neshama Hospice at Bathurst St & Wilson Ave.
In addition, Michael has been working extensively with provincial colleagues and counterparts from other levels of government to transform the former Bombardier Runway.
In partnership with Norcrest Developments, the 370-acre YZD site (formerly Downsview Airport Lands or Bombardier factory) will be transformed into seven new neighbourhoods over the next 30 years, including the Live Nations Rogers Amphitheatre set to open in Summer 2025. Michael has been working with Norcrest to reimagine the YZD site that will be home to more than 55,000 residents, and include more than 28 million sq. ft. of residential space, seven million sq. ft. of commercial and cultural spaces, 74 acres of parks, green and open spaces and a two-kilometre Runway all near the Downsview GO Station and Downsview TTC Station. This development will be supported by Michael and the Ontario PC Government’s investment in transit, schools, health care, and more.
